Our client is one of the most well regarded locally-owned mechanical contractors providing exceptional Commercial HVAC / BAS installation and support.  For more than 30 years they have proudly offered quality, stability and built long-term customer satisfaction in the Southern Tier of NY State throughout the Binghamton and Syracuse areas..  Their Building Automation team seeks an experienced Project Manager to join the team and continue the delivery of excellent service and installation of controls and communication equipment.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

  • The right candidate will be well qualified to execute of Building Automation construction projects in Central New York (greater Binghamton area)
  • Provide project management and coordinate resources to successfully execute installation projects that meet the company’s revenue and executed margin goal
  • Effectively manage in-house labor (company technicians) as well as outsourced/subcontracted labor (electrical contractors)
  • Capably manage financial performance of the assigned controls business, including project planning, revenue forecasting, and re-estimating costs as needed
  • Manage the delivery of the contracted scope and secure change orders for the expansion of scope.

APPLICATIONS ENGINEERING

  • Read and understand project specifications and MEP drawing sets – includes the development of scope of work, producing control schematics, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operations (SOPs)
  • Selects materials including DDC modules, field sensing and control devices, dampers and valves to meet the project requirements, specifications, codes and customer standards
  • Create project database utilizing company and customer standards
  • Set-up operator workstations with all associated software
  • Implement the startup, commission, and re-commission of customer systems that utilize electrical / electronic technologies
  • Conduct graphics engineering functions which includes creating equipment and floor plan graphics per project documents
  • Responsible for performing job database backups on a daily basis or as advised

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong understanding of the building automation systems and construction projects business flow
  • Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control
  • Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation
  • Strong Computer Networking & Server Experience
