Overview

Regional Sales Manager - Electric Heating Equipment calling on residential and commercial contractors, reps and engineering firms

Our client is a highly regarded manufacturer serving the electric heating industry.  For 40 years they have been producing HVAC ventilation equipment, electronic controls and heating cables that provide maximum performance, safety and innovative design. 

Currently we seek a well-qualified, self-motivated sales professional to call on manufacturers’ reps, contractors and engineering firms plus some end-user sales as well.

Main Responsibilities

  • Educate – fact find – prospect – build the knowledge of the agent(s) within the territory covered
  • Work with the agent when needed, call on the distributor/purchaser of product to demonstrate the overall, offering side by side competitive feature comparison, market potential, market share growth as well as understanding/fact finding the needs or wants of the customer
  • Conduct user/specifier calls, work with and/or independent of the agent, to develop market awareness with the firm/person responsible for specifying and/or selection of the equipment used in Residential, Commercial, Institutional and Industrial applications. This would focus on electrical and mechanical installation contracting firms, design-build firms, consulting engineers, national chains with either inside design engineering or external design consultants, utilities, developing both existing and new, builders, developers, etc.
  • Using fact finding and prospecting techniques, utilize the gathering of information for the development of contact list on your own, with the support of the agent or other resources so that the company can utilize this information for other communication tools
  • Identify local and regional media that the people in 3rd and 4th points utilize to gather information on current/new products they would use in satisfying an application or need. Key also to understand their wants and needs as a customer
  • In accordance with meeting the above objectives, develop/recommend training tools needed to maximize the performance of the task at hand, e.g. webinars, video, etc.
  • Communicate the information to all parties involved to include supervisor(s), directors, support personnel so there is clarity and the ability to transfer the role to a new member
  • Forecasting and regional budget input; Submit reports as required; Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Key Qualifications

  • College diploma in Business Administration (concentration in marketing or sales);
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in similar electrical product sales working with Manufacturer’s Agents and Electrical Distributors.
  • An excellent knowledge of our products, electricity and the industry
  • Knowledge of MS Office and Salesforce or SAP CRM
  • Independent, responsible, social and dynamic
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • High level of initiative, persuasive, with strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to offer solutions to problems which would result in interaction with client
  • Flexible work schedule (trade shows, industry events, etc.
  • Ability to travel overnights within the territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and Passport
