A leading OEM manufacturer of commercial and residential gas- and oil-fired hot water and steam boiler systems is seeking a Commercial Technical Sales Specialist (CTSS) to drive sales growth across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast United States.

Commercial hot water boiler systems
Steam boiler systems
Gas- and oil-fired heating equipment
Direct-vent and natural draft venting systems
The Commercial Technical Sales Specialist will promote commercial boiler and steam systems to mechanical contractors, specifying engineers, architects, wholesale distributors, and building owners.
The Commercial Technical Sales Specialist (CTSS) develops and executes regional sales strategies for commercial boiler systems and venting products.
Key responsibilities include:
Calling on mechanical contractors and specifying engineers
Positioning products as “basis of design” for construction projects
Promoting boiler and steam systems to architects and influencers
Working with wholesale distributors and manufacturers’ reps
Calling directly on building owners in healthcare, hospitality, and industrial sectors
Supporting new construction and renovation projects
Achieving regional sales and profit targets
This is a technical sales role requiring mechanical engineering knowledge and HVAC industry expertise.
The Commercial Technical Sales Specialist will:
Coordinate technical liaison services between production, management, sales, and customers
Assist in product classification from a quality assurance perspective
Monitor competitor product innovations and specifications
Investigate customer quality or specification concerns
Analyze complaints and report findings to production and sales leadership
Develop short- and long-term regional sales strategies
Implement new sales techniques to increase market share
Candidates should have:
3–5 years of mechanical engineering or technical sales experience
Knowledge of commercial boiler systems and steam heating systems
Experience working with mechanical contractors and engineers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Technical understanding of engineering and product development
Experience with gas- and oil-fired hot water boilers
Experience in HVAC or hydronic heating systems
Knowledge of venting systems and combustion equipment
Experience in specification sales within commercial construction
This Commercial Technical Sales Specialist role covers:
Mid-Atlantic United States
Northeast United States
Candidates should be located within the region or willing to travel regularly throughout the territory.
