Job Overview

A leading tree, shrub, and lawn care company specializing in environmentally responsible landscape services is seeking an experienced District Manager to progess to the Regional Vice President position within the next year or so as you lead multiple branches to further success.

This role oversees Branch Managers and drives performance across three core areas:

  • Employee Experience

  • Customer Experience

  • Sustainability (Safety, Environmental, Economic Performance)

The DM / RVP candidate is accountable for achieving Net Profit targets while improving operational efficiency, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.


What Does the District Manager | Regional Vice President Do?

Provides strategic and operational leadership across assigned branches within a high-transaction, service-based business.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Leading and coaching Branch Managers

  • Driving revenue growth and profit improvement

  • Managing branch-level P&L performance

  • Improving customer satisfaction and Net Promoter Score (NPS)

  • Supporting staffing, recruiting, and leadership development

  • Ensuring safety compliance and environmental stewardship

  • Applying Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement principles

This is a multi-location leadership role within the landscape, arboriculture, and lawn care services industry.


Core Responsibilities

Financial & Operational Leadership

  • Analyze key branch performance metrics, including:

    • Sales revenue

    • Service line mix

    • Rate Per Hour (RPH)

    • Client count

    • Conversion rates (pitched vs. sold work)

  • Identify root causes when KPIs are not met

  • Develop and guide annual budget planning

  • Improve margin performance and Net Profit


Leadership & Talent Development

  • Coach and mentor Branch Managers

  • Strengthen sales leadership using the Sandler Sales System

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to meet seasonal staffing goals

  • Ensure leadership bench strength (+1, +2, +3 staffing model)

  • Support High Potential (HP) employee development

  • Oversee onboarding and Training & Development programs

  • Improve employee engagement measured by Gallup Q12


Customer & Sustainability Focus

  • Monitor and improve Net Promoter Score (NPS)

  • Address service quality concerns proactively

  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols (“Path to Zero”)

  • Promote an employee-led safety culture

  • Reduce environmental impact through operational improvements

  • Maintain compliance with environmental and safety regulations


Strategic & Growth Initiatives

  • Apply Lean Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies

  • Monitor market conditions and competitive positioning

  • Partner with M&A team during acquisitions and integrations

  • Drive innovation and operational excellence


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Plant Science, Business Administration, or related field preferred)

  • 8–10+ years of leadership experience with P&L responsibility

  • Experience managing multi-location service businesses

  • Proven track record in high-volume B2C or B2B environments

  • Strong coaching and team development skills

  • Experience leading through growth and organizational change

  • Strong analytical and KPI-driven decision-making ability

  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License

  • Authorization to work in the United States


Preferred Experience

  • Landscape, arboriculture, or lawn care industry background

  • Experience with Sandler Sales methodology

  • Knowledge of Gallup Q12 engagement framework

  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles

  • Mergers & acquisitions exposure
