Overview

We seek a high-performing, driven, and customer-focused MEP Contractor Outside Sales Representative to join the team in El Paso.

Our client is dedicated to being the premier commercial HVAC manufacturers’ representative in the West Texas.  Whether supporting complex plan/spec projects or collaborative design/build applications, their expert team delivers exceptional service, top-tier equipment, and unmatched technical expertise.  They take great pride in their deep industry roots, robust product portfolio, and commitment to working alongside engineers, mechanical contractors, and building owners to deliver reliable, efficient HVAC solutions.

We seek a high-performing, driven, and customer-focused MEP Contractor Outside Sales Representative to join the team in El Paso.  You will be the primary commercial bridge between the firm and the mechanical contracting community. Your core objective is to partner directly with mechanical contractors, general contractors, and facility owners to drive product sales, secure project bids, and close opportunities across our full spectrum of commercial HVAC solutions—including equipment, airside, and hydronic systems.

Rather than sitting behind a desk, your time will be spent actively in the community—building strong contractor relationships, closing sales, and ensuring smooth project execution from bid day through delivery and startup. You will represent their premier manufacturing lines—including GRD, VAVs, fan coils, noise control, fans, VRF & ductless split systems, unitary equipment, chillers, custom AHUs, boilers, and hydronic specialties.

You will collaborate closely with internal sales support staff, application engineers, and manufacturing partners, as well as participate in factory training trips and client appreciation events to deepen industry connections. If you thrive in a competitive, fast-paced sales environment, excel at job-site and plan-room problem solving, and have a proven track record of securing commercial HVAC contractor business, we want to meet you!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contractor Relationship Management: Proactively cultivate, expand, and maintain strong relationships with mechanical contractors, including estimators, project managers, and installers across the El Paso metro area.
  • Full Product Portfolio Sales: Promote and sell our comprehensive equipment catalog, including VRF/ductless systems, custom air handlers, rooftop DX units, chilled/hot water plant equipment, VAV boxes, dampers, louvers, GRD, and fans.
  • Bidding & Closing: Review project plans, specifications, and takeoff schedules to prepare accurate equipment quotes; aggressively follow up on active bids to close orders and win market share.
  • Design/Build & Value Engineering: Collaborate with contractors on design/build opportunities and provide alternative, cost-effective equipment solutions that meet project budgets and performance requirements.
  • Technical & Commercial Support: Serve as the go-to contact for contractors regarding equipment pricing, lead times, submittals, delivery schedules, and job-site support.
  • Market Engagement: Attend local industry events, host client appreciation activities, and conduct periodic lunch-and-learns or equipment walk-throughs with key contracting partners.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal application engineers, factory representatives, and operational teams to ensure accurate order entry, smooth submittal approvals, and timely job-site deliveries.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: 3 or more years of successful outside sales experience in commercial HVAC equipment, mechanical contracting, or industrial wholesale distribution (prior experience calling on mechanical contractors in the El Paso/West Texas market is strongly preferred).
  • Equipment Knowledge: Solid understanding of commercial HVAC equipment categories, including VRF systems, hydronics, packaged rooftops, and air distribution systems.
  • Sales & Negotiation Mindset: Strong business development drive with proven closing skills, competitive drive, and the ability to manage a high-volume sales pipeline.
  • Blueprint & Plan Reading: Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, engineering specifications, equipment schedules, and project addenda.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, or Engineering is a plus.
