Job Overview

A leading St. Louis mechanical contractor is hiring an experienced HVAC Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.

This design/build mechanical engineering and contracting firm has completed more than $1 billion in HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical system installations over the past 25+ years. The company serves healthcare, senior living, food distribution, multi-family housing, industrial, and commercial clients nationwide.

The HVAC Project Manager will manage all phases of mechanical construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, HVAC equipment installation, and project closeout.

Key Responsibilities – HVAC Project Manager

The HVAC Project Manager in St. Louis will:

  • Manage commercial HVAC construction projects from pre-construction through completion

  • Oversee installation of mechanical piping and sheet metal systems

  • Supervise HVAC equipment and temperature controls integration

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules

  • Prepare and assemble bid documents

  • Define scopes of work and issue invitations to bid

  • Review blueprints and mechanical drawings

  • Coordinate subcontractors and internal teams

  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

This position requires experience in both design/build HVAC projects and plan-and-spec mechanical construction projects.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as an HVAC Project Manager or Mechanical Project Manager

  • Experience managing commercial or industrial HVAC construction projects

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, boilers, piping systems, and controls

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications

  • Experience with project scheduling and budgeting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working for a mechanical contractor

  • Knowledge of commercial construction bidding processes

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong leadership and client-facing skills
