HVAC & BAS Sales Rep sought for highly regarded MEP Firm based in St. Louis

Our client is a full-service design-build-maintain contractor and one of the fastest growing mechanical engineering and construction firm in the St. Louis area.  They offer a broad range of construction, design and facility service.  They take great pride in attracting highly skilled engineering talent that have the ability to be team players in the construction process, identifying owner needs, offering alternatives, providing cost benefit analysis and coordinating with the architect and other consultants to deliver the best total value to their clientele.

Key Criteria

  • Develop a “trusted advisor” relationship with facility owners and managers
  • Identify and cultivate new business as well as support existing accounts
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from prospecting to proposal
  • Develop project scope of work, cost estimate and solution proposals
  • Provide Sales support to Operations teams during project implementation
  • Work with minimal supervision in promoting the firm’s products and services
  • Be a self-starter with effective time management skills
  • Maintain timely sales prospects and opportunity pipeline data
  • Utilize PDA/PC /Outlook to maintain record of sales related activities


  • Minimum 3 years Automation sales experience
  • Demonstrate technical & relationship based selling skills
  • Technical understanding of building automation system components and architectures including: Temperature/Pressure controls, I/F to mechanical systems, Lighting, VFD’s, Power Monitoring, etc.
  • Strong writing and verbal skills
  • Knowledge of IT networks, computers and basic terminology
  • Computer experience with Work, Excel, PowerPoint (Visio is a plus)
  • CEM certification and energy audit experience a plus
  • Commercial / Healthcare / Institutional experience a plus
