Project Commissioning Technician sought for Supermarket, Grocery, C-Store and Commercial Building Mechanical Systems Provider

Our client is the preferred partner for success in supermarket, grocery, and C-store mechanical systems including HVAC, controls, and refrigeration.  They specialize in the design, construction, operations, and retrofit of these types of retail food stores to eliminate shopper discomfort, high humidity, unwanted condensation, and energy waste. Supermarket mechanical system professionals know that it is nearly impossible to get comfort and dehumidification working well when the store is closed and open refrigeration cases are not operating in complete concert with HVAC and controls.

The Project Commissioning Technician is a multi-faceted position employing skill sets across a wide variety of project types from HVAC, basic electrical, controls wiring, system start-ups, commissioning and many other general project related activities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with System Engineers and Project Managers to fully understand all aspects of every job requirement.
• Work with each assigned team to effectively complete the assigned project.
• Work with all subcontractors to assure an efficient and productive environment.
• Become proficient in all the attributes of all the products and services they provide.
• Working with various control platforms will be important.
• Doing system start-ups of HVAC and their proprietary dehumidification system, and other products will be required.
• Troubleshooting problems and engaging in resolution with the team is very important.
• Abide by all company safety requirements and any others that may be imposed as an on the job requirement.
• Working on a team, or alone, to perform system and store level commissioning’s.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ field mechanical work or documented field level skills
• Experience working in a grocery or supermarket environment is a plus.
• Experience in working on teams as well as working stand-alone.
• Understanding of processes and planning.
• Ability to effectively communicate internally and externally is critical.
• Ability to read and understand construction documents, including plans, specifications, submittals, and technical bulletins.
• Basic understanding of wiring, equipment operations, etc.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Experience and understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, refrigeration systems, and controls.
• Ability to organize and effectively complete projects on time.
• Highly focused on learning and developing skills.
• Ability to travel. Most projects require out-of-town and overnight travel.
• Ability to solve everyday problems on the job.
